Beginning in September 2008, adopted adults
and birth parents will be able to submit disclosure vetoes. Individuals who choose
to submit a disclosure veto may also provide information about family and/or medical
history that would be shared with the other party.
In June 2009, adopted adults 18 years of age or older will be able to apply for
a copy of their original birth registrations and adoption orders. Birth parents
will be able to apply for information from the original and substituted birth
registrations and adoption orders, once their birth child is 19 years of age
or older.
Service Ontario is the one-window contact for adoption information disclosure
