What is CARI?

Canadian Adoptees Registry Inc. (CARI) a not-for-profit organization operated entirely by a small group of dedicated volunteers who understand the individual desire to connect with birth relatives. Established in 1996, our mission is to help them do that through the ongoing development and maintenance of an extensive database of Adoptees and Birth Relatives. Our service is not about searching on your behalf but about providing you with helpful resources to assist in your search.

Having said that, we are here to help. We have personally assisted many people make their reunion connections. View our Reunion Success Rate.

The Canadian Adoptees Registry is a free service. We do not receive regular funding from any source and we do not charge a fee for registration or assistance. However, there are significant expenses required to purchase and maintain our equipment, resource materials and this website and we appreciate donations of any amount to assist us in keeping the Registry going. If you wish to offer a donation, please see our Donations page.
